When we first sought out to acquire Cabernet Franc, we felt it would be the perfect blending grape for our wonderful One Oak Vineyard Merlot. What we found was that we liked it so much we decided to use a little for blending and bottle the rest. Our loyal customers went wild and now it is one of our most popular varietals! We found this little gem (527 vines) in front of Wente Sparkling Vineyards in 200? and contracted for the entire vineyard. It is farmed to our specifications and we plan to continue making this enchanting wine for years to come.
Not a Cab, not a Merlot, but still when you drink this wine you know there is a relationship somewhere in the past. Truly a deep soulful wine with cassis and black currants surrounded by a velvety brown sugar butter cream (remember See’s Bordeaux chocolates?) With moderate acid and softer tannins, this is a wine you want to curl up with by a fire on a cold snowy night.
