The Hansen Vineyard is just down the street from our Crane Ridge Estate. Every year we are fortunate to get these quality Zinfandel grapes. In the past, this has been a more understated Zin. However, as this vineyard matures, we are getting more and more intense flavor from these grapes!
Layers and layers of raspberries are offered up in this vintage: fresh berries, berry jam, and even Chambord raspberry liquor. Sweet floral notes similar to carnation and floral greenery provide lift and last night’s campfire adds depth. The palate is flavorful and all about fresh berries. The wine has ample acidity and a rustic texture. The slightly oaked finish is coupled with fresh berries as a welcome partner.
