Our estate Merlot Vineyard is located in the southeast foothills of Livermore Valley and has one lovely California Live Oak that is home to a Red Tail Hawk. Michael and Rhonda fell in love with this vineyard in 1995 and envisioned building a home and raising their family amongst the vines. Rhonda dreamt of retiring as an airline pilot and making wine. Michael is still dreaming.
This new world Merlot is blood red in color and has aromatics of strawberry-rhubarb pie accented by sweet Mexican vanilla and thyme. The palate is bright with a sour cherry acidity that makes it very food friendly. It has a velvety soft texture and well-integrated oak. The finish is medium-long and dominated by the flavors of fresh fruit.
