Harvested from two vineyards in Livermore Valley. One on the Northwest Hills of Livermore Valley made up 75% and the other 25% was from a head pruned vineyard planted in front of the Ravenswood Historic site in Livermore Valley.
This wine is a very dark purple color; it is quite opaque. Over the top aromas of olallieberry jam countered by cracked black pepper scream Zinfandel. But a pretty Hawaiian lei flower note, like white tuberose, reminds me of high-altitude Cabernet Sauvignon. The palate is intense, velvety and mouth filling with soft caressing acids. The flavors follow the nose with classic berry flavors and rich dark chocolate. Rounded tannins complement the softer acids and a long, slightly spicy finish completes the experience.
