Each year we are fortunate to receive high quality grapes from the Madden Ranch Vineyard located above the Poppy Ridge Golf Course. Our grapes are sourced from a specific hillside and shared with Winter Olympic Gold Medalist Peggy Fleming! 2005 was an exceptional year at the Madden Ranch Vineyard owned by John Madden and his family.
Dark roasted fruits are at the core of this big wine: black cherry, mission figs and black plums. Swirling amongst the fruits you find a depth of spice and earth. Tobacco, fennel and rich dark soil mingle with just a hint of sweet oak playing the high note. The palate delivers everything the nose promises – a Big Bang! With acidity balanced by fruit and rustic tannins, the wine finishes with lingering toasted oak.
