II made this wine for my girlfriends who kept telling me they needed a Chardonnay to drink. My high school Spanish only took me so far, so instead of creating a wine “for my girlfriends,” I created a wine “for more girlfriends.”
Such a decadent wine! With aromas of sautéed pears perched atop creamy custard, it is broadened by the clean smell of wet stone and the warmth of toasted pepita pumpkin seed. The wine’s interest continues on the palate with rich braised fennel, preserved lemons and grapefruit foam. Clearly it is a food wine with its medium to medium plus acidity providing great balance to the fruit. The long finish brings you right back around to the warm pepitas enjoyed at the start.
