The grapes for our Livermore Valley Cabernet come from the vineyard right next door, owned by our neighbors Bill and Donna Johnson. We started making this beautiful wine from their vineyard in 2000. Located in Crane Ridge Vineyards, you may know it by its previous name, Quail Creek Vineyard. While the name has changed to White Cat Vineyard, the fruit is as delicious as ever.
A dark purple beauty, opaque in the glass. Swirl and sniff to find yourself immersed in crushed olallie and raspberries. A depth of richness is found in the aromas of olive oil cake, graham cracker crust and roasted Brazil nuts. A hint of white pepper provides a top-note of complexity. The palate is full and bright with food-friendly acidity. Substantial tannins give this wine excellent texture and a long, toasty oak finish is its crowning glory.
